Saline & Steelend Community Development Trust (SSCDT) is an OSCR-registered Charity with a board of Trustees. This charity (SC044063) is run by a group of individuals in Saline and Steelend. |
What We're Here to Do
SSCDT exists to help our villages thrive. Everything we do is focused on supporting local people, improving our shared spaces, and building a stronger, more connected community.
Creating spaces and activities for everyone We work to provide places to meet, play, learn, and take part in activities. Our aim is to make sure these opportunities are open to everyone, especially people who might benefit most because of age, disability, low income, or other challenges. |
Looking after our environment We care deeply about our natural surroundings. The Trust supports projects that protect, improve, and celebrate our local environment—from green spaces to community gardens. We also promote sustainable development so future generations can enjoy the same benefits we do. |
Supporting health and wellbeing We back initiatives that help people feel healthier, happier, and more connected—whether that’s through social activities, outdoor projects, or community‑led wellbeing programmes. |
Helping people build skills and confidence We promote training and learning opportunities that help people gain new skills, especially those that can lead to employment or improve everyday life. |
Supporting people who need extra care We aim to make life easier for older residents and anyone in the community who needs additional support. |
Doing what's needed for our community We’re here to respond to local needs. When new challenges or opportunities arise, we can take on other charitable activities that benefit the community, with the appropriate approvals. |
