The Pantry

Run by village volunteers since March 2023, Saline and Steelend Fabulous Food Pantry is held in Saline Community Centre every Wednesday at 12:00 pm. The Pantry is open to anyone. Just remember to bring your own bag!

What is the Pantry?

For just £4, you can access a range of fruit and vegetables, tinned, dried and packet foods.

 

Also available are: 

  • fresh and frozen food
  • bread and bakery items
  • baby nappies, wipes and other equipment
  • toiletries: deodorants, shampoo, conditioner, body wash, etc. 
  • household cleaning materials: detergents, fabric softener, disinfectants, etc.
  • pet food and treats.

 

Each week there is a table where you can pick up bedding or books. There is also a range of additional items, which change frequently.

 

Soup, tea, coffee, and cake are always available and there are community meals from time to time.

Cookery demonstrations with nutritional information and recipes to support feeding yourself or family.

Other Services at the Pantry

A West Fife welfare support worker attends the Pantry each week. They can give advice and support on anything to do with Fife council or signpost you to the right person. This might include help with benefit checks, completing forms, emergency fuel advice and payments, and the emergency mobile service.

Fife Law Centre also visit to offer free legal advice on any query you may have.

Cosy Kingdom representatives give free advice around savings energy, free home checks, and access to grants for insulation, boilers, etc.
